For almost 40 years, the S. H. Kress & Co. created buildings that reflected the latest architectural styles. Generations of friends and family heeded the call to "meet your friends at Kress" and shopped for values in luxurious surroundings.

Today, the elaborate Art Deco façade of the Durham Kress, with its decorative floral motifs, dazzles passersby. Inside, three floors of residential condominiums are situated over three floors of commercial space. Modern amenities complement the building's original lofty ceilings and expansive windows.
